Airfare
Going (Scott’s Cheap Flights)
Going is a subscription service where you pay a membership fee to get the best flight deals sent straight to your email inbox. This is THE BEST way to get the cheapest flights. Booking just one flight a year more than covers the cost of a membership. I absolutely love this service.
Google Flights
Google Flights is one of the best search engines for finding flights. It has a sleek and easy to use interface and plenty of helpful features. You can even set up your own flight alerts to make sure you get the best price on that flight you’ve been eyeing.
Momondo
Momondo is another popular flight search engine. It’s easy to use and has plenty of great features to help you get the best price for your flight.
Transportation & Navigation
Flixbus
Flixbus is a great way to get around affordably in Europe and the US. While not always the most punctual, the buses are typically cheap and comfortable. If you’re looking to save a few bucks, Flixbus is the way to go.
Rome2Rio
Rome2Rio is the best way to get direction from Point A to Point B. Whether it’s by car, bus, train, or boat, Rome2Rio can give you the best route to get there. It’s free, easy to use, and incredibly helpful.
Google Maps
Google Maps is my favorite way to get around, whether I’m at home or on the road. With extensive maps just about everywhere in the world and directions for driving, walking, and public transport, it’s your one stop shop for navigating wherever you are. Activities
GetYourGuide
GetYourGuide is a great way to find fun things to do anywhere in the world. They have a wide range of tours, trips, and entry tickets to help you take the perfect trip. If you’re looking for things to do, GetYourGuide is the first place you should look.
Airbnb
While Airbnb is best known as a place to find great accommodation, it is also a great way to find activities. I’ve booked food tours, walking tours, and photoshoots through Airbnb and had a great experience every time.
TheFork
TheFork is a great tool for finding and booking restaurants in Europe. Many place even offer special deals and menus to patrons who book through TheFork. If you book often enough you can also rack up rewards points for additional discounts.
Accommodation
Hostelworld
Hostelworld is the best search and booking engine when it comes to hostels. They’ve got an extensive selection all over the world with tons of user reviews to help you pick the best option. If you want to book a hostel, you have to start here.
Airbnb
While I’ve already mentioned it once here, Airbnb deserves a shoutout when it comes to accommodation as well. It’s a great way to find places to stay that give you more privacy and amenities than a hotel room. Just do some research before you book to make sure locals aren’t being harmed by Airbnb in your destination.
Booking.com
Booking.com is probably the most extensive search engine for hotels outside of Google. It’s got tons of filtering options and user reviews to help you pick the best place for you. I do recommend checking prices directly with the hotel to make sure you get the best price.
Credit Cards
Bilt
Bilt is the #1 credit card for most travelers right now because it offers something nobody else does: earning points on rent. When you combine that with Bilt’s great travel partners and no annual fee, there’s no reason for anyone to skip out on this card.
Chase Sapphire Preferred
The Chase Sapphire Preferred card is another one I’ve been keeping in my wallet for a while. It’s got great transfer partners and a great sign up offer. If you’re looking for a new card this is one of the best.
CapitalOne Venture
This was the first travel credit card that I ever acquired and I have absolutely no complaints. You get 2 miles for every dollar spent and plenty of partners to transfer those miles to. Additionally, it’s got a great sign up bonus.
Gear
Nomatic
Nomatic makes my absolute favorite travel bag. It’s a little pricey but it was absolutely worth it and I would recommend it to any traveler. They have lots of other gear too and I hope to get myself some more in the future.
Blogging
HostGator
HostGator is the service I use to host my blog. It’s been super easy to use and customer service has been convenient and responsive. To this point I have no complaints and would recommend it to anyone looking to host a site.
ConvertKit
ConvertKit is an email marketing platform that I use to create forms and manage my email list. It’s incredibly user friendly and has made it really easy to get things set up.
